From the bus stop of Kowloon Reservoir (beside the way to Sha Tin) going back a short distance, it reaches the entrance of Wilson Trail. The path starts by following it. In the beginning, it skirts alongside Kowloon Reservoir with the scenic offshore view. Head to the end of the reservoir, it joins the sylvan path on the left. The trail ascends the steps then gently winds along the hillside. On the way, it passes through several brooks. Hear the gurgles and see some monkeys climbing in the trees to look for their foods, the vitality of nature are lively shown. Looking back far, the rolling hills of Lion Rock and Beacon Hill are also within the sight.
After descend to the path junction, then take the Kam Shan Family Walk on the right uphill. Pass through a flatland and go ahead, it comes to the junction of Golden Hill Road.
Exit: If not to follow Kam Shan Family Walk, you could go ahead to join Golden Hill Road, then head it to the left to return Tai Po Road, or to the right to join MacLehose Trail.
Golden Hill Road
Head Golden Hill to the right, then join the flight of uphill steps of Wilson Trail on the right at the monument. Up ahead along it, a sublime distance view over Needle Hill and Sha Tin could be seen. After contour along the hillside, it turns straight downward by descending the long flight of steps. Afterward, it gently winds through the thick woods among the jade screen. Go ahead, the noise from Shing Mun Tunnel is gradually heard that slightly breaks the peaceful country setting.
Exit: At the junction of Goldhill Road beyond Kam Shan Country Trail, you could follow Goldhill Road to the left to return Tai Po Road.

Needle Hill
Shing Mun Reservoir
Continuing on along Wilson Trail, then take the short flight of steps on the left at the junction. Passing through the barbecue site and heading forward, the trails reaches the main dam of Shing Mun Reservoir, then follows the concrete road to the left. Along the way, it offers scenic view among the reservoir. Overlook the inverted image the hill of Tai Mo Shan reflecting in waters as if it were a splendid picture. Finally, past the large barbecue site and along the road further, it leads to the minibus stop at the junction of Shing Mun Road.
Summary
It is peaceful and comfortable in hiking among the jade country setting between Kowloon Reservoir and Shing Mun Reservoir. Skirting the reservoirs also offer the greenish water screens. Moreover, like the country park of Hong Kong Island, there is also an oasis in Kowloon not far from the city to the jungle.
