From the bus stop of Hoy Au Lau, go back a few steps and follow Aberdeen Reservoir Road to the right at the junction. Up to the entry of Aberdeen Country Park, head the right concrete path. Not far ahead, take the right fork to pass through the dam of Aberdeen Lower Reservoir and then join the sylvan path. Along the way, it gives the scenic view of the reservoir and over Ap Lei Chau. Head the path, it soon starts a flight of stone steps uphill. Climbing up to the junction at the rocky slope, trace the right path to Lady Clementi's Ride according to the signpost.
Branch: At the entry of Aberdeen Country Park, you could follow Aberdeen Reservoir Road on the left that also leads up to Wan Chai Gap.
Bennet's Hill
The trail gently winds along the hillside of Bennets Hill and opens up along the way. At the initial leg, it offers distance views over Ap Lei Chau and Wong Chuk Hang. Further ahead, the full view over Deep Water Bay, Shouson Hill and Brick Hill of Ocean Park could be seen. In the blue sky, the green hills look more bright and beautiful. After joining the catchwater, go ahead along it. Heading forward not far, cross the short concrete bridge on the left (pay attention to it) and then turn left to the junction where there is a pavilion on the left.
Lady Clementi's Ride
At the junction by the pavilion, follow the path of Lady Clementi's Ride on the right according to the signpost to Wai Chai Gap. It winds along the hillside gently uphill and mostly cuts through the sylvan terrain. Along the way, it also crosses several old stone bridges and the streams. In the peaceful atmosphere, stepping on the leaves covering the ground, and sometimes hearing murmur of the brooks and bird sound seem to be hugged by the nature. Near the final leg of the path, you could see the remnant of a deserted battery. After joining Aberdeen Reservoir Road and going ahead, it soon comes to Wan Chai Gap.
Wan Chai Gap
From the Coombe Road Playground (with toilet and water dispenser), cross Stubbs Road and join Wan Chai Gap Road on the opposite side. Along the concrete road downhill, it is quite steep in part. After crossing Bowen Road, still go ahead along it down. Finally, descending to Kennedy Road and crossing it, follow Yen Wah Steps down to Queen's Road East.
